In Outlook there is an issue with creating a follow up folder for email that is attached to a GMail IMAP account.
This is normal behavior and is resolved by changing the properties of the Follow Up folder.
Right Click on the Follow Up Folder and SELECT "Customise this Search Folder"
Under Mail from these folders will be included in this search folder; SELECT Browse
Tick Just the Inbox and Tick the Search Sub Folders.
